El Camino College to Unveil New UNITY Mural

El Camino College art student Haruka Kanemura will unveil her mural dedicated to friendship, diversity and unity during a ceremony set for 1-2 p.m. May 22 in the college’s Student Activities Center.

Torrance, CA – El Camino College to Unveil New Mural Focused on Unity today in the Student Activities Center.   ECC art major designed and produced the large-scale mural with a student team. El Camino College art student Haruka Kanemura’s mural on campus is a tribute to friendship, diversity and unity. Los Angeles, CA. –  From Maria Sharapova, one of our fiercest female athletes, the captivating—and candid—story of her rise from nowhere to tennis stardom, and the unending fight to stay on top.
In a small Russian town, where as a five-year-old she played on drab neighborhood courts with precocious concentration. It begins when her father, convinced his daughter could be a star, risked everything to get them to Florida, that sacred land of tennis academies. It begins when the two arrived with only seven hundred dollars and knowing only a few words of English. From that, Sharapova scraped together one of the most influential sports careers in history.

Sunscreen Film Festival West Opens with Run Paddle Chug: The Hermosa Beach Ironman

Hermosa Beach, CA. The fourth annual Sunscreen Film Festival West opens this evening September 29 to October 2 in the South Bay. Festival organizer Robert Enriquez will premiere a new documentary Run Paddle Chug about the local Hermosa Beach Ironman competition held every year on the fourth of July.

“I got this idea, and I wanted to tie [the festival] with the community a bit better,” he says.
