One on One Settlement

The LA Galaxy faced off against Sporting Kansas City on Sunday May 1st 2016 in Children’s Mercy Park. The match began on a defensive struggle for the LA Galaxy in preventing the home team from finding possession, leading them to create goal scoring opportunities, which were not capitalized well. Throwback: First to Five Eminence

The stakes couldn’t have been higher for the LA Galaxy as they entered the grand finale of the MLS season in 2014, that being MLS Cup. Due to finishing the regular season on a higher standing the LA Galaxy were awarded the right to host the MLS Cup match in their home stadium, StubHub Center. The opponent was the New England Revolution who was no stranger to entering the MLS Cup match day for they had done so in five occasions yet were not able to win an MLS Cup. The Los Angeles Galaxy faced off against the Houston Dynamo in BBVA Compass Stadium and it was off to a fast start from both teams. Game, Set, Draw

The LA Galaxy faced off against the Portland Timbers on Sunday April 10 in the StubHub Center. The match was well dictated by the LA Galaxy who was not successful in going through a well compact and positioned Portland Timbers defense. Much of the attack from the LA Galaxy came from the flanks, specifically from 23 year old midfielder Sebastian Lletget. Throughout the match, he would take on defenders dribbling and occupying the space from the flanks which led him to deliver short or long diagonal passes to the LA Galaxy offense who were well prevented from scoring by the Timbers defense. Gyasi Zardes also stepped creating offensive damage, such as in one play where he dribbled the ball rapidly to the penalty box but was then tackled down just outside of the penalty box awarding the LA Galaxy a free kick that was not capitalized but defended well by the Portland Timbers.
